pretty proud of this french apple tart, barefoot contessa style, of course.
find the very easy recipe here.
tonight’s dessert: coffee ice cream with dark chocolate pistachio cookie crisps.
ok so, i know this easter post is belated, but it was such a pretty day that i wanted to share. dyed eggs, a big fruit plate, homemade cookies (thumbprints and cold dough), and dessert for a passover celebration on monday: matzo-almond croccante from the april issue of bon appetit! here’s to a beautiful spring! xo!
the perfect sunny sunday snack :)
brownies, take two. in a pinch for time last night, i whipped these guys up with the recipe on the side of the nestle toll house cocoa container (mixing to baking took 30 minutes total). the recipe, it turns out, is amazing. i was able to cut the brownies without having them crumble into big globs of chocolate (the WORST) and they are so yummy, chewy and chocolatey. i think i’m done using boxed brownie mixes. believe it! recipe here!
ok, these are the black & tan brownies i made yesterday (named after the irish drink). they’re part caramel-y cookie with pecans, part brownie made with guinness. win-win! recipe here.
this snowy weekend called for some cozy baking! so, we went with chocolate spice cupcakes with chocolate ganache and marble cupcakes, both from martha stewart’s cupcake cookbook. the chocolate spice were my fave, gingery, spicy, and rich! check the recipe.
rachel and i had oh so much fun making these multi-colored cupcakes last weekend. we split the batter into five bowls and went to town with the food coloring (the gel kind). my personal fave is the robin’s egg blue shade. they’re really very easy to make, and i love that each little cake is a different, surprise combo.
apple-molasses spice cake! (recipe from real simple. made the powdered sugar stencil myself…to my delight, it looks pretty adorbs!)
Gingerbread, lemon curd, and whipped cream. Yum! It’s a little bit lemon meringue-y, a little bit spicy!
