tonight’s dessert: coffee ice cream with dark chocolate pistachio cookie crisps.

i found this recipe for cocoa layer cake in the february 2011 issue of bon appetit last week, and i made that baby ASAP. it is amazing — rich and cocoa-y and has three layers (!!!). it was also the perfect birthday cake for my big bro!! happy birthday e-boo! xoxo!

this snowy weekend called for some cozy baking! so, we went with chocolate spice cupcakes with chocolate ganache and marble cupcakes, both from martha stewart’s cupcake cookbook. the chocolate spice were my fave, gingery, spicy, and rich! check the recipe.

mom hit the post-halloween candy jackpot at the grocery store, scoring bags of m&m’s for 50 cents!! so, from the surplus came these pretzel m&m cookies. basically, it’s a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe, with bag of pretzel m&m’s and one cup of chocolate chips mixed in. they’re salty and sweet — one of my fave combos!

what a weekend! mom and i spent the majority of our saturday baking cookie table treats for two upcoming weddings. (i love a cookie table, btw.) we made peanut butter blossoms, russian tea cakes, lemon crinkle cookies, neiman marcus cookies, and thumbprints. yum!!!

i had some fun on sunday making this chocolate swirl pound cake in a bundt pan. i keep seeing recipes for grilled pound cake served with ice cream and fresh berries — how delish does that sound?

repping my pennsylvania dutch roots by whipping up some whoopie pies.

father’s day dessert: orange pound cake, with chocolate chunks and chocolate ganache. yum-o!
